I’m Riccardo, an Italian filmmaker drawn to the blurred lines between reality and illusion, where dread, wonder, and the human psyche collide. Born and raised in Rome, I was shaped by the haunting beauty of European cinema and driven by a desire to craft stories that linger long after the screen fades to black.
Twenty years ago, I moved to California to sharpen my vision in the birthplace of genre innovation. Over the years, I’ve directed five short films that live within the shadows of psychological horror, sci-fi, and speculative realism,always circling one core obsession: the unseen forces that shape our minds and destinies.
My work is visual, atmospheric, and emotionally unrelenting. It doesn’t ask for permission, it invites discomfort, questions, and reflection. These films have traveled internationally, drawing recognition for their mood, craftsmanship, and depth. Most recently, I returned to Italy for two years, where I had the extraordinary honor of working alongside Maestro Pupi Avati as First Assistant Director on three feature films. That experience deepened my understanding of character, timing, and cinematic restraint.
Now back in California, I am singularly focused on directing my first feature, a project that distills everything I’ve learned across continents, influences, and obsessions. I’m looking to connect with a producer or representative who shares a passion for bold, elevated genre filmmaking, someone ready to champion a director with a clear voice and a body of work to prove it.
